The PTC translation tool, this website, and all related services are provided by the OnTheGoSystems company. By using them, you agree to the terms and conditions presented below.
Using Your PTC Account
Creating a PTC account always starts with a free trial:
- Free Trial: During your free trial, you have access to all PTC features. You can translate up to 2,500 words into any two languages of your choice. The trial period ends once you reach the 2,500-word limit, after which a paid subscription is required to continue using PTC.
- Paid Plan: Once your free trial ends, to continue translating, you need to activate Pay-As-You-Go. If you have an active WPML account, you have the additional option of assigning prepaid credits from wpml.org (see WPML’s terms and conditions for rules regarding prepaid credits).
Pay-As-You-Go for Automatic Translation
The cheapest and most convenient way to pay for automatic translation is to sign up within PTC’s interface and pay-as-you-go. There is no monthly subscription fee and you can cancel at any time.
Here’s how it works in short:
- Each translated word uses 4 translation credits
- The first 500 words you translate each month are free (equivalent to 2,000 translation credits). If you translate more than that, we will charge you based on how many words you used beyond that according to the current pricing table. You cannot carry over unused free words to the next month.
- Prices are calculated progressively, so the more you translate in a month, the cheaper it is per word.
- If you didn’t translate anything in a given month, we simply won’t charge you anything. For each automatic translation invoice, you will be charged for any words you translated during the previous calendar month.
- The billing period starts at midnight UTC on the first day of the month and ends at midnight UTC on the first day of the next month.
- Invoices are issued and your credit card is charged on the 3rd of each month.
- PTC does not store your credit card information. Payments are processed via Stripe.
We reserve the right to change the translation pricing and the way it is calculated in the future. Of course, if this happens, we will always notify you in advance. For detailed information including a price calculator see our page about pricing for automatic translation.
Translating Your Projects with PTC
PTC can translate your projects via three methods: manual file upload, Git repository integration, and API integration. For purposes of translating and organizing translations using these methods, PTC accesses, processes, and stores your resource files indefinitely, until you choose to delete them.
Additionally, when connecting PTC to your repository, you must provide read and write access. PTC requires this access to translate your resource files and then detect code changes to trigger retranslations. PTC does not make changes to your resource files directly or access other parts of your repository beyond what is necessary for translations.
We process personal data and other additional data (like usage and location) in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Adding Other People To Your Account
PTC allows you to add users to your account and assign them specific roles. Available roles include Payments Manager and Organization Admin. The Organization Admin role grants full access to your account.
Losing Access To PTC Features
You have full access to PTC during the free trial. Your account will be put on hold in the next billing period as a result of:
- Deactivating Pay-As-You-Go
- Free trial expiring (without upgrading to a paid plan)
- Running out of prepaid words from WPML.org
- Payment failing
In these cases, you can still log into your account and view existing projects. However, you won’t be able to:
- Connect new projects
- Translate projects
- Generate new merge requests to apply translation edits in your software
- Enable PTC to monitor repositories and automatically provide translation updates
You can restore full access if you continue with a paid plan. Your payment details need to be updated and any outstanding balance successfully processed.
Receiving Support
You can ask anything via the contact form on our site or use the report an issue form if you encounter problems.
Fair Usage Policy
Each PTC login is intended for use by a single individual. If multiple people need access to PTC, you must invite them to your account and assign appropriate roles.
We reserve the right to suspend or cancel any account that violates this policy.
Restrictions on Resale and Redistribution of PTC
You cannot resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to PTC to third parties. In other words, you cannot:
- Offer access to PTC as part of a bundled service or package (e.g., “subscribe to our service and get access to PTC”) unless it’s a part of a special agreement with us.
- Sell or distribute PTC access, credentials, or services to any third party.
- Use PTC as part of a commercial service to provide translation services on behalf of third parties unless it’s part of a special agreement with us.
PTC is a proprietary SaaS tool, and any unauthorized use or distribution is strictly prohibited.
